Abstract One of the most difficult experiences for a person, especially a teenager, is having to deal with disastrous situations. In this research paper are correlated the dimensions of the Collective Coping Strategies and Posttraumatic Growth in adolescents affected by the rainy season in the Atlantico-Colombia. A questionnaire of Paez, Wlodarczyk, Bosco, Reyes, and Villagran (2012) was used for the coping strategies. Concerning the growth, a questionnaire of Paez, Reyes, and Villagran (2012) was applied to 160 adolescents in situation of victims. Positive differences were found between the Collective Coping and Posttraumatic Growth, the results show a high level of coping capacity and good performance of men after the phenomenon occurred. Resumen El afrontamiento de situaciones de desastre constituye una de las experiencias más difíciles para una persona y en especial para un adolescente. En este artículo de investigación se correlacionan las estrategias de afrontamiento colectivo y el crecimiento postraumático en adolescentes damnificados por las inundaciones en el departamento del Atlántico, Colombia. En lo que respecta al afrontamiento, se utilizó el cuestionario de Páez, Wlodarczyk, Bosco, Reyes y Villagrán (2012); y en cuanto al crecimiento, se aplicó el cuestionario de Páez, Reyes y Villagrán (2012). Ambos instrumentos se aplicaron a 160 adolescentes en situación de damnificados. Se hallaron diferencias positivas entre el afrontamiento comunal y el crecimiento postraumático, evidenciándose un alto nivel de afrontamiento y un buen desempeño de los hombres después de ocurrido el fenómeno.
