Zn2SnO4 nanoparticles have been prepared by a facile solvothermal process using NaHCO3 as a mineralizer. The Zn2SnO4 nanoparticles with a mean size of 50nm were obtained after solvothermal treatment at 200°C for 18h. SnO2 nano-needles started to appear when the reaction time was extended to 24h. As anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, the Zn2SnO4 nanoparticles exhibited initial capacities of 1322 and 784mAhg−1 at the current density of 100 and 300mAg−1, respectively.
