Abstract The design of thin-wall drift tubes filled with a gas at a high differential pressure (up to 4 bar) is described, and the results of studying them are presented. A method for strengthening the tube walls with carbon filaments for compensating for changes in their linear dimensions upon changes in the differential pressure is considered.
