Abstract This report represents the successful culmination of many years of developmental work with blended elemental (BE) P/M titanium alloys. Although the appreciable cost savings possible through utilization of cold isostatically pressed near-net shape titanium components has been recognized for several years, applications have been somewhat limited by the less than optimal fatigue performance of these P/M alloys. The recent completion of fatigue testing on reduced chloride P/M Ti-6Al-4V alloys has demonstrated the achievement of wrought equivalent fatigue properties. This data supplements the wrought equivalent tensile properties previously achieved. By virtue of these advances, cost effective blended elemental titanium components can now satisfy the most demanding requirements in industrial and aerospace applications. Ausführliche Beschreibung
