Abstract The aim of this study is to map and to identify the water erosion risks in the central High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The approach is to integrate in the geographic information systems (GIS) for multi-criteria analyses, the geomorphometric variables (the gradient and the form of the slope) and the spectral indices derived from Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper (TM) data (form index, coloration index, and vegetation index). According to different weights for these variables, several scenarios of water erosion risk maps were produced and confronted with the ground truth for validation. Ausführliche Beschreibung
