520 | |a This introduction presents the concept of religious engineering, offering a new perspective on a field of research which deals with the interrelations of religion and international development. The concept, we propose, allows for an analysis of a wide array of projects of transformation without presupposing religion, secularity and development as different given spheres or concepts. Following criticisms of the instrumental use of a sui generis concept of religion and a narrow definition of development, we suggest a focus on the relational, on-going constitution of development and religion through transformative practices of religious engineering. This refers to ways of working on the future shape of a society, group or individual, where the ‘engineers’ allude to what they understand as religious traditions and practices. At the same time, the concept accesses purposeful transformations of religious traditions and self-understandings that are spurred on by such projects of societal and/or individual improvement. | ||

At the same time, the concept accesses purposeful transformations of religious traditions and self-understandings that are spurred on by such projects of societal and/or individual improvement. relationality secularity religion development transformation Religious engineering s (DE-588)4014937-7 (DE-627)106338242 (DE-576)208909958 Entwicklungsforschung gnd s (DE-588)4049396-9 (DE-627)106187155 (DE-576)209081880 Religion gnd (DE-627) Schrode, Paula verfasserin (DE-588)1021418765 (DE-627)691515131 (DE-576)363253939 aut Enthalten in Religion London [u.a.] : Routledge, 1971 51(2021), 1, Seite 1-18 Online-Ressource (DE-627)268128154 (DE-600)1471703-7 (DE-576)104344660 1096-1151 nnns volume:51 year:2021 number:1 pages:1-18 https://doi.org/10.1080/0048721X.2020.1792053 Resolving-System kostenfrei Volltext GBV_USEFLAG_U GBV_ILN_2019 ISIL_DE-Tue135 SYSFLAG_1 GBV_KXP GBV_ILN_11 GBV_ILN_20 GBV_ILN_22 GBV_ILN_39 GBV_ILN_40 GBV_ILN_60 GBV_ILN_63 GBV_ILN_65 GBV_ILN_69 GBV_ILN_70 GBV_ILN_100 GBV_ILN_110 GBV_ILN_151 GBV_ILN_206 GBV_ILN_216 GBV_ILN_224 GBV_ILN_285 GBV_ILN_370 GBV_ILN_702 GBV_ILN_2001 GBV_ILN_2003 GBV_ILN_2004 GBV_ILN_2006 GBV_ILN_2007 GBV_ILN_2010 GBV_ILN_2011 GBV_ILN_2025 GBV_ILN_2026 GBV_ILN_2034 GBV_ILN_2036 GBV_ILN_2055 GBV_ILN_2111 GBV_ILN_2336 GBV_ILN_2446 GBV_ILN_2470 GBV_ILN_2507 GBV_ILN_4012 GBV_ILN_4035 GBV_ILN_4246 GBV_ILN_4249 GBV_ILN_4305 GBV_ILN_4306 GBV_ILN_4313 GBV_ILN_4323 GBV_ILN_4700 GBV_ILN_2403 GBV_ILN_2403 ISIL_DE-LFER mteo AR 51 2021 1 1-18 2019 01 DE-Tü135 3896426060 00 --%%-- --%%-- --%%-- n l01 27-03-21 2403 01 DE-LFER 4319023382 00 --%%-- --%%-- n --%%-- l01 08-05-23 2403 01 DE-LFER https://doi.org/10.1080/0048721X.2020.1792053 2019 01 DE-Tü135 00 (DE-627)1442042966 AA 2019 01 DE-Tü135 01 (DE-627)1442042990 AB 2019 01 DE-Tü135 02 (DE-627)1442053755 ZB |

Religious engineering: exploring projects of transformation from a relational perspective |
abstract |
This introduction presents the concept of religious engineering, offering a new perspective on a field of research which deals with the interrelations of religion and international development. |
