520 | |a On the base of Teffi and Averchenko stories the ironic interpretation of the causes of communication failure of heroes who did not want to lose the «Russian character» is discussed. The works of «third wave» of Russian emigration (A. Sohrina) authors shows the retention of lifestyle «without language», but the language itself is no longer perceived as a metaphysical entity, but is seen as a communication means. The works of «fourth wave» contemporary authors (Z. Zinik, L. Goralik) show the overcome of linguistic alienation. These texts demonstrate a modification of the concept of «immigration» (stateless persons, returnees, ex-pats) and moving towards the principle of multiculturalism as a basis for cooperation and successful realization of the individuality. The concept of «alien» language gives a way to the notion of the «other» language. As evidence the authors analyse the story by G. Rybina-Druon «I am 13 years old» where satire is replaced by good humour. | ||

«FROM SEMI-RUSSIAN, HALF-FORGOTTEN...»: LANGUAGE ALTERNATIVE AS A PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEM OF THE EMIGRANTS |
abstract |
On the base of Teffi and Averchenko stories the ironic interpretation of the causes of communication failure of heroes who did not want to lose the «Russian character» is discussed. |
