CONGENITAL EPULIS: A RARE BENIGN JAW TUMOR OF NEWBORN |
abstract |
A congenital epulis is a rare benign jaw tumor of neonate and is also known as “congenital gingival granular cell tumor”. The Greek word ‘‘epulis’’ means ‘‘swelling of the gingiva’’. It was first described in 1871 by Neumann; hence the alternative name is Neumann’s Tumor. It usually presents at birth with an obvious mass arising from the gingival mucosa of the maxilla or mandible. It commonly presents in neonates, although prenatal diagnosis with ultrasound has been reported as early as 26 weeks gestation. |

It commonly presents in neonates, although prenatal diagnosis with ultrasound has been reported as early as 26 weeks gestation.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">congenital epilus</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">benign jaw tumor</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">newborn</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Pediatrics</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Surgery</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">KN Rattan</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Babita Rani</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">In</subfield><subfield code="t">Journal of Neonatal Surgery</subfield><subfield code="d">EL-Med-Pub, 2020</subfield><subfield code="g">1(2012), 2, Seite 31-31</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)1760607843</subfield><subfield code="x">22260439</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:1</subfield><subfield code="g">year:2012</subfield><subfield code="g">number:2</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:31-31</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">https://doaj.org/article/e47827e146664b41af1bb30fafc87629</subfield><subfield code="z">kostenfrei</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://jneonatalsurg.com/documents/vol-1/pdf/jns-1-37.pdf</subfield><subfield code="z">kostenfrei</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="2"><subfield code="u">https://doaj.org/toc/2226-0439</subfield><subfield code="y">Journal toc</subfield><subfield code="z">kostenfrei</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SYSFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_DOAJ</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">1</subfield><subfield code="j">2012</subfield><subfield code="e">2</subfield><subfield code="h">31-31</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
