520 | |a The fiber-resin interface is an important component that significantly affects mechanical properties of composites. Random vibration-assisted vacuum processing (RVAVP), a new method to improve the adhesion of the fiber-resin interface, was presented. The effects of different curing processes on mechanical properties were comprehensively assessed by combining the fiber push-out test, finite element model simulation, cure monitoring approach, and short-beam three-point bending test, and the correlation between fiber volume fraction and mechanical properties was quantified by a facile thermogravimetric analysis-based methodology. The results revealed that application of random vibration during the curing process can promote the impregnation of resin into fibers and impede the growth of interface defects while improving mechanical properties at the same time. For this reason, the laminates produced by RVAVP exhibited the average interfacial shear strength of 78.02 MPa and the average interface fracture toughness of 51.7 J/m<sup<2</sup<, which is obtained a 48.26% and 90.77% improvement compared with the 0 MPa autoclave process. With the large observed increase in micro-mechanical properties, the average interlaminar shear strength of 93.91 MPa showed a slight reduction of 5.07% compared with the 0.6 MPa autoclave process. Meanwhile, the mechanical properties tended to be stable at the fiber volume fraction of 65.5%. | ||

Meanwhile, the mechanical properties tended to be stable at the fiber volume fraction of 65.5%. carbon fiber reinforced plastics composite random vibration assisted vacuum processing fiber-resin interface mechanical properties fiber volume fraction Organic chemistry Lihua Zhan verfasserin aut Yifeng Peng verfasserin aut Cong Liu verfasserin aut Rui Xiong verfasserin aut In Polymers MDPI AG, 2011 13(2021), 16, p 2764 (DE-627)61409612X (DE-600)2527146-5 20734360 nnns volume:13 year:2021 number:16, p 2764 https://doi.org/10.3390/polym13162764 kostenfrei https://doaj.org/article/273dcf52b0644711b730b78bb62d5def kostenfrei https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4360/13/16/2764 kostenfrei https://doaj.org/toc/2073-4360 Journal toc kostenfrei GBV_USEFLAG_A SYSFLAG_A GBV_DOAJ GBV_ILN_20 GBV_ILN_22 GBV_ILN_23 GBV_ILN_24 GBV_ILN_39 GBV_ILN_40 GBV_ILN_60 GBV_ILN_62 GBV_ILN_63 GBV_ILN_65 GBV_ILN_69 GBV_ILN_70 GBV_ILN_73 GBV_ILN_95 GBV_ILN_105 GBV_ILN_110 GBV_ILN_151 GBV_ILN_161 GBV_ILN_170 GBV_ILN_206 GBV_ILN_213 GBV_ILN_224 GBV_ILN_230 GBV_ILN_285 GBV_ILN_293 GBV_ILN_602 GBV_ILN_2005 GBV_ILN_2009 GBV_ILN_2011 GBV_ILN_2014 GBV_ILN_2055 GBV_ILN_2108 GBV_ILN_2111 GBV_ILN_2119 GBV_ILN_4012 GBV_ILN_4037 GBV_ILN_4112 GBV_ILN_4125 GBV_ILN_4126 GBV_ILN_4249 GBV_ILN_4305 GBV_ILN_4306 GBV_ILN_4307 GBV_ILN_4313 GBV_ILN_4322 GBV_ILN_4323 GBV_ILN_4324 GBV_ILN_4325 GBV_ILN_4335 GBV_ILN_4338 GBV_ILN_4367 GBV_ILN_4700 AR 13 2021 16, p 2764 |

Interface Controlled Micro- and Macro-Mechanical Properties of Vibration Processed Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composites |
abstract |
The fiber-resin interface is an important component that significantly affects mechanical properties of composites. |

Meanwhile, the mechanical properties tended to be stable at the fiber volume fraction of 65.5%.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">carbon fiber reinforced
