520 | |a This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of papers published in different specialized databases during the years 2010 - 2020 on STEM education as an emerging field of research. The analysis seeks to address the following research question: What are the sublines of work that are emerging within the emerging research field of STEM education between 2010 and 2020? To facilitate the search for articles in the databases, the following keywords were defined: STEM education, Natural Sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, ecology), Secondary Education and University Education. In total, 57 articles were selected that aligned with these words. Three criteria were established to perform the bibliometric analysis. The first criterion corresponds to general characteristics of the articles and the second and third criteria correspond to characteristics identified in the reading and review of the articles (emergent criteria). In summary, it was possible to establish nine sublines of work within this emerging field of research in the framework of science education. | ||

The analysis seeks to address the following research question: What are the sublines of work that are emerging within the emerging research field of STEM education between 2010 and 2020? To facilitate the search for articles in the databases, the following keywords were defined: STEM education, Natural Sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, ecology), Secondary Education and University Education. In total, 57 articles were selected that aligned with these words. Three criteria were established to perform the bibliometric analysis. The first criterion corresponds to general characteristics of the articles and the second and third criteria correspond to characteristics identified in the reading and review of the articles (emergent criteria). In summary, it was possible to establish nine sublines of work within this emerging field of research in the framework of science education.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" "
