An overview of chia seed (Salvia hispanica L.) bioactive peptides’ derivation and utilization as an emerging nutraceutical food
Chia (S. hispanica L.) is an annual herbaceous plant that has gained popularity for its seeds of high-quality vegetative proteins, richest contents of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (Ω-3 PUFA), soluble dietary fiber, and great gelling ability, as well as its high contents of bioactive peptides...

Such health protective bioactive peptides should be utilized for supplementation in the food and nutrition industries. This review was therefore designed to align the researches done on chia bioactive peptide’s derivation, processing, consumption and to identify their antioxidative and nutraceutical potential for various disease biomarkers. The evidence gathered is fairly compelling for the health-promising nutraceutical and clinical potential of chia seed bioactive peptides as antioxidants, dipeptidyl peptidase-IV inhibitors (DPP4), angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, and anti-inflammatory drugs. Their assimilation into everyday diets has the potential to open new doors in health departments and food sectors. | ||

Their assimilation into everyday diets has the potential to open new doors in health departments and food sectors. chia hydrolysates antioxidative antiinflammatory antihypertensive chia bioactive peptides Biochemistry Biology (General) Moazzam Rafiq Khan verfasserin aut Hafiza Mahreen Mehwish verfasserin aut Muhammad Shahid Riaz Rajoka verfasserin aut Jose Manuel Lorenzo verfasserin aut Marek Kieliszek verfasserin aut Abdur Rauf Khalid verfasserin aut Muhammad Asim Shabbir verfasserin aut Rana Muhammad Aadil verfasserin aut In Frontiers in Bioscience-Landmark IMR Press, 2022 26(2021), 9, Seite 643-654 (DE-627)73729003X (DE-600)2704569-9 27686698 nnns volume:26 year:2021 number:9 pages:643-654 https://doi.org/10.52586/4973 kostenfrei https://doaj.org/article/ef221990841b4a3d8788fa48b79c68bf kostenfrei https://www.imrpress.com/journal/FBL/26/9/10.52586/4973 kostenfrei https://doaj.org/toc/2768-6701 Journal toc kostenfrei GBV_USEFLAG_A SYSFLAG_A GBV_DOAJ GBV_ILN_20 GBV_ILN_22 GBV_ILN_23 GBV_ILN_24 GBV_ILN_31 GBV_ILN_39 GBV_ILN_40 GBV_ILN_60 GBV_ILN_62 GBV_ILN_63 GBV_ILN_65 GBV_ILN_69 GBV_ILN_70 GBV_ILN_73 GBV_ILN_74 GBV_ILN_95 GBV_ILN_105 GBV_ILN_110 GBV_ILN_151 GBV_ILN_161 GBV_ILN_170 GBV_ILN_206 GBV_ILN_213 GBV_ILN_230 GBV_ILN_285 GBV_ILN_293 GBV_ILN_602 GBV_ILN_2014 GBV_ILN_4012 GBV_ILN_4037 GBV_ILN_4112 GBV_ILN_4125 GBV_ILN_4126 GBV_ILN_4249 GBV_ILN_4305 GBV_ILN_4306 GBV_ILN_4307 GBV_ILN_4313 GBV_ILN_4322 GBV_ILN_4323 GBV_ILN_4324 GBV_ILN_4325 GBV_ILN_4338 GBV_ILN_4367 GBV_ILN_4700 AR 26 2021 9 643-654 |

An overview of chia seed (Salvia hispanica L.) bioactive peptides’ derivation and utilization as an emerging nutraceutical food |
abstract |
Chia (S. hispanica L.) is an annual herbaceous plant that has gained popularity for its seeds of high-quality vegetative proteins, richest contents of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (Ω-3 PUFA), soluble dietary fiber, and great gelling ability, as well as its high contents of bioactive peptides of antioxidative and nutraceutical potential for many other clinical biomarkers. |

Their assimilation into everyday diets has the potential to open new doors in health departments and food sectors.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">chia
