. This essay investigates connections between informal practices and formal documents, in order to reflect on quality assessment tools in the Italian welfare system. The aim of this paper is to compare results carried out from ethnographic researches on mental health and on childcare in vulnerable families. The analysis explores writings describing medical treatments and focuses on rehabilitation processes related to the final inclusion in civil society. Associations and cooperatives constitute the services sector and undertake a strategic role in the experimentation of co-working methods empowering relationships. The anthropological perspective questions institutional methods of constructing individual memories, bringing out the risks of reductionism linked to the classification system of the disadvantage, the disease and the deviance.
