520 | |a Background and purpose: Emotions are constitutive elements of temperament. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between primary emotional traits and symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD) and also the predicting role of these traits in BPD symptoms. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out in Tehran, Iran 2017. The research population included 197 university students. They were recruited using convenience sampling based on the study inclusion/exclusion criteria. The participants completed the Persian version of Affective Neuroscience Personality Scale-2.4 (ANPS 2.4) and Borderline Personality Inventory (BPI). All statistical analyses were carried out in SPSS V16. Results: The findings showed a significant positive correlation between BPD symptoms and playfulness (r=0.17, p=0.001), anger (r=0.32, p=0.001), and sadness (r=0.19, p=0.001). We found a negative relationship between seeking and BPD symptoms (r=-0.22, p=0.001). It was also found that 28% of the total variance of BPD symptoms were explained by primary emotional traits. Anger, playfulness, seeking, and sadness were significant predictors of BPD symptoms. Conclusion: This study confirmed emotional traits of personality. Findings also help to illustrate the possible emotional profiles of people with BPD symptoms. Hence, affective neuroscience approach could be used in diagnosis and treatment of BPD symptoms. | ||

Hence, affective neuroscience approach could be used in diagnosis and treatment of BPD symptoms. borderline personality disorder affective neuroscience affective neuroscience personality scale personality traits primary emotional traits Medicine R Medicine (General) Ghasem Abdolpour verfasserin aut Sharareh Koohnavard verfasserin aut Mozhgan Lotfi verfasserin aut Adel Karami verfasserin aut In Journal of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 2018 28(2019), 170, Seite 160-172 (DE-627)59095623X (DE-600)2476989-7 17359279 nnns volume:28 year:2019 number:170 pages:160-172 https://doaj.org/article/e75797590e7d4e2dba9bacea3709a840 kostenfrei http://jmums.mazums.ac.ir/article-1-11908-en.html kostenfrei https://doaj.org/toc/1735-9260 Journal toc kostenfrei https://doaj.org/toc/1735-9279 Journal toc kostenfrei GBV_USEFLAG_A SYSFLAG_A GBV_DOAJ GBV_ILN_20 GBV_ILN_22 GBV_ILN_23 GBV_ILN_24 GBV_ILN_39 GBV_ILN_40 GBV_ILN_60 GBV_ILN_62 GBV_ILN_63 GBV_ILN_65 GBV_ILN_69 GBV_ILN_73 GBV_ILN_74 GBV_ILN_95 GBV_ILN_105 GBV_ILN_110 GBV_ILN_151 GBV_ILN_161 GBV_ILN_170 GBV_ILN_206 GBV_ILN_213 GBV_ILN_230 GBV_ILN_285 GBV_ILN_293 GBV_ILN_602 GBV_ILN_2005 GBV_ILN_2009 GBV_ILN_2011 GBV_ILN_2014 GBV_ILN_2055 GBV_ILN_2111 GBV_ILN_4012 GBV_ILN_4037 GBV_ILN_4112 GBV_ILN_4125 GBV_ILN_4126 GBV_ILN_4249 GBV_ILN_4305 GBV_ILN_4306 GBV_ILN_4307 GBV_ILN_4313 GBV_ILN_4322 GBV_ILN_4323 GBV_ILN_4324 GBV_ILN_4325 GBV_ILN_4338 GBV_ILN_4367 GBV_ILN_4700 AR 28 2019 170 160-172 |

The Role of Primary Emotional Traits in Predicting Borderline Personality Symptoms |
abstract |
Background and purpose: Emotions are constitutive elements of temperament. |

Hence, affective neuroscience approach could be used in diagnosis and treatment of BPD symptoms.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">borderline personality
