520 | |a Background: The purpose of this study was to examine the changes in IOP, total macular and RNFL, ganglion cell layer (GCL) thickness, and aqueous humour flare in open angle glaucoma (OAG) patients before and 6 months after cataract surgery. Methods: This was a prospective observational case–control age- and gender-matched study. Groups: 40 subjects in a controlled OAG (OAG<sub<c</sub<) group, 20 subjects in an uncontrolled OAG (OAG<sub<u</sub<) group, and 60 control group subjects. Examination: complete ophthalmic evaluation, IOP measurement, anterior and posterior segment Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and laser flare photometry before and 6 months postoperatively. Results: Six months postoperatively IOP decreased in all groups. An increase in macular thickness was found postoperatively in all groups. Preoperative aqueous humour flare was higher in the OAG<sub<c</sub< group than in the control group. After cataract surgery, aqueous humour flare was higher in the control group compared to the preoperative result. Conclusions: Changes in IOP following cataract surgery were strongly negatively correlated with preoperative IOP. An increase in macular thickness was observed 6 months postoperatively in all groups. Aqueous humour flare did not differ in OAG<sub<c</sub< and OAG<sub<u</sub< groups pre- and postoperatively but significantly increased in the control group postoperatively. | ||

Aqueous humour flare did not differ in OAG<sub<c</sub< and OAG<sub<u</sub< groups pre- and postoperatively but significantly increased in the control group postoperatively. cataract glaucoma retinal thickness Optical Coherence Tomography aqueous humour flare Retinal Circulation Medicine (General) Neda Rylskyte verfasserin aut Loreta Kuzmiene verfasserin aut Brent Siesky verfasserin aut Alice Verticchio verfasserin aut Alon Harris verfasserin aut Ingrida Januleviciene verfasserin aut In Diagnostics MDPI AG, 2012 13(2023), 2, p 244 (DE-627)718627814 (DE-600)2662336-5 20754418 nnns volume:13 year:2023 number:2, p 244 https://doi.org/10.3390/diagnostics13020244 kostenfrei https://doaj.org/article/8de43f4c7f9241da829b7fe00a723234 kostenfrei https://www.mdpi.com/2075-4418/13/2/244 kostenfrei https://doaj.org/toc/2075-4418 Journal toc kostenfrei GBV_USEFLAG_A SYSFLAG_A GBV_DOAJ GBV_ILN_20 GBV_ILN_22 GBV_ILN_23 GBV_ILN_24 GBV_ILN_39 GBV_ILN_40 GBV_ILN_60 GBV_ILN_62 GBV_ILN_63 GBV_ILN_65 GBV_ILN_69 GBV_ILN_73 GBV_ILN_74 GBV_ILN_95 GBV_ILN_105 GBV_ILN_110 GBV_ILN_151 GBV_ILN_161 GBV_ILN_170 GBV_ILN_206 GBV_ILN_213 GBV_ILN_230 GBV_ILN_285 GBV_ILN_293 GBV_ILN_602 GBV_ILN_2005 GBV_ILN_2009 GBV_ILN_2011 GBV_ILN_2014 GBV_ILN_2055 GBV_ILN_2111 GBV_ILN_4012 GBV_ILN_4037 GBV_ILN_4112 GBV_ILN_4125 GBV_ILN_4126 GBV_ILN_4249 GBV_ILN_4305 GBV_ILN_4306 GBV_ILN_4307 GBV_ILN_4313 GBV_ILN_4322 GBV_ILN_4323 GBV_ILN_4324 GBV_ILN_4325 GBV_ILN_4338 GBV_ILN_4367 GBV_ILN_4700 AR 13 2023 2, p 244 |

Changes in Macular Thickness after Cataract Surgery in Patients with Open Angle Glaucoma |
abstract |
Background: The purpose of this study was to examine the changes in IOP, total macular and RNFL, ganglion cell layer (GCL) thickness, and aqueous humour flare in open angle glaucoma (OAG) patients before and 6 months after cataract surgery. |

Aqueous humour flare did not differ in OAG<sub<c</sub< and OAG<sub<u</sub< groups pre- and postoperatively but significantly increased in the control group
