Inverse Aerodynamic Optimization Considering Impacts of Design Tip Speed Ratio for Variable-Speed Wind Turbines
Because of the slow dynamic behavior of the large-inertia wind turbine rotor, variable-speed wind turbines (VSWTs) are actually unable to keep operating at the design tip speed ratio (TSR) during the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) process. Moreover, it has been pointed out that although a large...

520 | |a Because of the slow dynamic behavior of the large-inertia wind turbine rotor, variable-speed wind turbines (VSWTs) are actually unable to keep operating at the design tip speed ratio (TSR) during the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) process. Moreover, it has been pointed out that although a larger design TSR can increase the maximum power coefficient, it also greatly prolongs the MPPT process of VSWTs. Consequently, turbines spend more time operating at the off-design TSRs and the wind energy capture efficiency is decreased. Therefore, in the inverse aerodynamic design of VSWTs, the static aerodynamic performance (i.e., the maximum power coefficient) and the dynamic process of MPPT should be comprehensively modeled for determining an appropriate design TSR. In this paper, based on the inverse design method, an aerodynamic optimization method for VSWTs, fully considering the impacts of the design TSR on the static and dynamic behavior of wind turbines is proposed. In this method, to achieve higher wind energy production, the design TSR, chord length and twist angle are jointly optimized, which is structurally different from the conventional separated design procedure. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by simulation results based on the Bladed software. | ||

Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by simulation results based on the Bladed software. aerodynamic optimization design tip speed ratio (TSR) maximum power point tracking (MPPT) inverse design variable-speed wind turbine (VSWT) Technology T Minghui Yin verfasserin aut Yan Xu verfasserin aut Yun Zou verfasserin aut Zhao Yang Dong verfasserin aut Qian Zhou verfasserin aut In Energies MDPI AG, 2008 9(2016), 12, p 1023 (DE-627)572083742 (DE-600)2437446-5 19961073 nnns volume:9 year:2016 number:12, p 1023 https://doi.org/10.3390/en9121023 kostenfrei https://doaj.org/article/de744b33383c4b1dbd860a3ae5011c72 kostenfrei http://www.mdpi.com/1996-1073/9/12/1023 kostenfrei https://doaj.org/toc/1996-1073 Journal toc kostenfrei GBV_USEFLAG_A SYSFLAG_A GBV_DOAJ GBV_ILN_20 GBV_ILN_22 GBV_ILN_23 GBV_ILN_24 GBV_ILN_39 GBV_ILN_40 GBV_ILN_60 GBV_ILN_62 GBV_ILN_63 GBV_ILN_65 GBV_ILN_69 GBV_ILN_70 GBV_ILN_73 GBV_ILN_95 GBV_ILN_105 GBV_ILN_110 GBV_ILN_151 GBV_ILN_161 GBV_ILN_170 GBV_ILN_206 GBV_ILN_213 GBV_ILN_230 GBV_ILN_285 GBV_ILN_293 GBV_ILN_370 GBV_ILN_602 GBV_ILN_2005 GBV_ILN_2009 GBV_ILN_2011 GBV_ILN_2014 GBV_ILN_2055 GBV_ILN_2108 GBV_ILN_2111 GBV_ILN_2119 GBV_ILN_4012 GBV_ILN_4037 GBV_ILN_4112 GBV_ILN_4125 GBV_ILN_4126 GBV_ILN_4249 GBV_ILN_4305 GBV_ILN_4306 GBV_ILN_4307 GBV_ILN_4313 GBV_ILN_4322 GBV_ILN_4323 GBV_ILN_4324 GBV_ILN_4325 GBV_ILN_4335 GBV_ILN_4338 GBV_ILN_4367 GBV_ILN_4700 AR 9 2016 12, p 1023 |

Inverse Aerodynamic Optimization Considering Impacts of Design Tip Speed Ratio for Variable-Speed Wind Turbines |
abstract |
Because of the slow dynamic behavior of the large-inertia wind turbine rotor, variable-speed wind turbines (VSWTs) are actually unable to keep operating at the design tip speed ratio (TSR) during the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) process. |

Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by simulation results based on the Bladed software.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield
