Itsar is the opposite of atsarah, that is, he does not care about his brother's needs because he also needs them or prioritizes his own interests. There are 3 (three) levels of itsar in Ibn Qayyim's view, namely; First, put others before yourself. Second, prioritizing the pleasure of Allah over the pleasure of others. Third, attribute itsar to Allah and not to yourself. The relationship between Itsar and generosity is that itsar is the highest peak of generosity. abstract |
This study explains the thoughts of Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyah regarding itsar. The methods used are exploratory and analytical. The results of the research found that in the view of Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyah is an attitude of prioritizing others above self-interest.
