Exposure to low dose benzo[a]pyrene during early life stages causes symptoms similar to cardiac hypertrophy in adult zebrafish

• Embryonic BaP exposure caused cardiac hypertrophy in adult zebrafish. • BaP exposure induced ANP, BNP, and c-Myc, which are cardiac hypertrophy markers. • The mechanism might involve the increase of Rac1, RhoA, CdC42 and p-ERK.
