Serological and molecular evidence of Q fever among small ruminant flocks in Algeria

• We described a zoonosis in Algeria where little is known. • We revealed a high seroprevalence and excretion rates in Algerian small ruminant flocks. • We confirmed the implication of Q fever in ovine abortions.
