Analysis of coalescence behavior for compressed droplets |
abstract |
• The morphological characteristics of two squeezed droplets between two parallel plates were investigated experimentally and numerically. • By controlling the distance of the dispensed droplets, the morphological results for coalescence of droplets were evaluated. • The representative results were shown from the view of the minor axis, major axis, and meniscus liquid bridge, respectively. • The numerical modeling of the coalescence of the two squeezed droplets was presented. • The simulation results were validated by comparison with the experimental results. |
