• The acute toxicity and oxidative stress biomarkers of Cu with or without PFOS in L. hoffmeisteri were evaluated under different pH values. • Single or combined exposure could change the bioaccumulation of Cu and PFOS in L. hoffmeisteri. • Toxicity order was proposed via the IBR index.
