The key role played by three different solvents, with high coordinating affinity towards lanthanoids, in the final structure of the series of (6,3)-2D lattices [Er2(C6O4Br2)3(G) n ]·mG (G=H2O, DMSO, DMF,…) is studied and correlated with the size and shape of the solvent molecules.
