Increased complement C4d deposition at the maternal-fetal interface in unexplained recurrent miscarriage

• C4d is increased on trophoblast tissue in unexplained recurrent miscarriage. • Increase of C4d may reflect anti-fetal immunity in women with recurrent miscarriage. • Knowledge of this pathogenic mechanism may lead to new treatment strategies.
