• The first oyster p38 gene was identified from the Crassostrea hongkongensis. • Chp38 mRNA was ubiquitously expressed in all examed tissues and developmental stages. • Chp38 transcript could be up-regulated significantly by bacterial pathogens and PAMPs infections. • Chp38 was localized in both cytoplasm and nuclear of HEK293T cells. • Chp38 could significantly enhance AP-1 reporter gene activation in a dose-dependent manner. |
