• A fast, convenient, and colorimetric sensor for Ag+ detection is developed based on gold nanoparticle system. • Our sensor shows good selectivity to Ag+, due to the synergistic coordination of adenosine and creatinine with Ag+. • Our sensor shows high sensitivity with LOD of 7.3nM, which could compete with some of instrument-based methods. • It realizes quantitative detection of Ag+ by UV–vis spectrometer with good recoveries and standard deviations. |
