Modulation of Corticospinal Excitability of Trunk Muscles in Preparation of Rapid Arm Movement
• In preparation of arm movements, inhibition of multifidus corticospinal excitability occurred before the Go signal. • This nonspecific inhibition might prevent the release of motor programs in advance of the Go signal. • After the Go signal, a task-specific modulation of corticospinal excitability...

Modulation of Corticospinal Excitability of Trunk Muscles in Preparation of Rapid Arm Movement |
abstract |
• In preparation of arm movements, inhibition of multifidus corticospinal excitability occurred before the Go signal. • This nonspecific inhibition might prevent the release of motor programs in advance of the Go signal. • After the Go signal, a task-specific modulation of corticospinal excitability was consistent with upcoming EMG activity. • The results suggest the existence of two concurrent mechanisms underlying motor preparation for trunk postural control. |
