Uncovering the lifecycle GHG emissions and its reduction opportunities from the urban buildings: A case study of Macau
• It firstly estimates the lifecycle GHG emissions from Macau urban buildings during 1999–2016. • Building GHG emissions have grown quickly from 1.52 Mt CO2e in 1999 to 5.91 Mt CO2e in 2016. • For use stage, unit emissions from resident and non-resident buildings in 2016 are 65.33 and 3316.37 CO2e/m...

Uncovering the lifecycle GHG emissions and its reduction opportunities from the urban buildings: A case study of Macau |
abstract |
• It firstly estimates the lifecycle GHG emissions from Macau urban buildings during 1999–2016. • Building GHG emissions have grown quickly from 1.52 Mt CO2e in 1999 to 5.91 Mt CO2e in 2016. • For use stage, unit emissions from resident and non-resident buildings in 2016 are 65.33 and 3316.37 CO2e/m2, respectively. • Gaming industry and clean electricity should be key points of building GHG emission reduction. • Three scenarios are set for potential GHG emission reduction in Macau. |
