• Seasonal influenza occurs all year-round in tropical Singapore and has posed significant social and economic burden. • Patients with severe seasonal influenza were characterized by advanced age, hypoalbuminemia and presence of pneumonia on admission. • Age ≥65 years, malignancy, and hypoalbuminemia were associated with increased mortality. • Antiviral therapy and ventilation were associated with decreased mortality. |
