Robust contact-point detection from pantograph-catenary infrared images by employing horizontal-vertical enhancement operator

• Proposed two directional operators for enhancing pantograph-catenary infrared images. • The contact-points are detected by the usage of an improved RANSAC scheme. • Our strategy’s effectiveness is validated in quantification and qualification.
