Hydrodynamic performance of a newly designed biplane-type hyper-lift trawl door for otter trawling
l A newly biplane-type hyper-lift trawl door with compactness and stable property has been proposed. l The biplane-type hyper-lift trawl door with an aspect ratio of 2.0 and a cambered ratio of 20% is with excellent lift characteristics more than 2.0 in a wider range of angle of attack. l The biplan...

Hydrodynamic performance of a newly designed biplane-type hyper-lift trawl door for otter trawling |
abstract |
l A newly biplane-type hyper-lift trawl door with compactness and stable property has been proposed. l The biplane-type hyper-lift trawl door with an aspect ratio of 2.0 and a cambered ratio of 20% is with excellent lift characteristics more than 2.0 in a wider range of angle of attack. l The biplane-type structure is believed to contribute to enhancing the lift force and increasing the stall angle of the otter board in comparison with the monoplane-type one. l The lift force distribution ratio for both the fore wing and the rear wing relative to the entire biplane-type otter board approaches 50%. |
