• Multifocal motor neuropathy is associated with the HLA class II HLA-DRB1*15:01-DQB1*06:02 and HLA-DRB1*12:01-DQB1*03:01 haplotypes. • Patients with MMN carrying either of these haplotypes do not have a distinct disease course. • The associations could serve as a genetic tag for other disease associated regions on chromosome 6, including the MHC class III region. • Though a direct link though antigen presentation seems unlikely, these associations imply the role of T cells in the specific inflammation underlying MMN. |
