• A polymorphic phase boundary (PPB) of O-T phase is constructed successfully in (1-x)KNNS–xBCZ ceramics. • The formation mechanism of PPB is revealed from the point of crystal structure. • The relationship between the enhanced performance and PPB is explored deeply. • High d 33 (303 pC/N) and T C (340 °C) are obtained in 0.98KNNS–0.02BCZ ceramics with O-T phase boundary. |
