| abstract |
• Synovial chondromatosis is a rare condition where osteocartilaginous free bodies form within joints and synovial sheaths. • This case reports successful treatment of 2 cases as well as review of current literature of this rare condition. • Treatment is by excision of the osseocartilaginous bodies through open arthrotomy or arthroscopically and synovectomy. • A recurrence rate of 324% as well as up to 5% chance of malignant transformation into chondrosarcoma. |
