Non-point contaminant source identification in an aquifer using the ensemble smoother with multiple data assimilation

• The ES-MDA is used to identify non-point contaminant sources. • An ellipse is updated to approximate the (ir-)regular non-point source area. • The results show the ES-MDA can deal with non-point problems after enough iterations.
