Resonance Raman spectra of p-hydroxyazobenzene and its ring deuterated derivatives in the strongly acidic solution
Resonance Raman spectra of p-hydroxyazobenzene (HAB) and its three ring deuterated derivatives have been measured in the strongly acidic solution. The observed Raman bands have been assigned by referring to the spectra of related compounds and the deuteration effect. The N=N stretching band of HAB i...

Resonance Raman spectra of p-hydroxyazobenzene and its ring deuterated derivatives in the strongly acidic solution |
abstract |
Resonance Raman spectra of p-hydroxyazobenzene (HAB) and its three ring deuterated derivatives have been measured in the strongly acidic solution. The observed Raman bands have been assigned by referring to the spectra of related compounds and the deuteration effect. The N=N stretching band of HAB in the solution of 20% hydrochloric acid undergoes a high frequency shift by about 60 cm-1 on changing the solvent to 20% deuterochloric acid. In the strongly acidic solution HAB has been confirmed to exist as a resonance hybrid between the azo and the hydrazone forms, of which the former is predominant. A normal coordinate analysis of a simplified model, C—NH=N—C6H4—p—OH, has been carried out to give a good agreement between the calculated and the observed frequencies. |

A normal coordinate analysis of a simplified model, C—NH=N—C6H4—p—OH, has been carried out to give a good agreement between the calculated and the observed frequencies.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">Wiley InterScience Backfile Collection 1832-2000</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Machida, Katsunosuke</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Lee, Hohi</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Saito, Yutaka</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Uno, Toyozo</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">in</subfield><subfield code="t">Journal of Raman Spectroscopy</subfield><subfield code="d">Chichester [u.a.] : Wiley</subfield><subfield code="g">7(1978) vom: Apr., Seite 184-187</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ159070473</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1481008-6</subfield><subfield code="x">0377-0486</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:7</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1978</subfield><subfield code="g">month:04</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:184-187</subfield><subfield code="g">extent:4</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/jrs.1250070404</subfield><subfield code="q">text/html</subfield><subfield code="z">Deutschlandweit zugänglich</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_U</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-WIS</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">7</subfield><subfield code="j">1978</subfield><subfield code="c">4</subfield><subfield code="h">184-187</subfield><subfield code="g">4</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
