The electrodeposition of Pb monolayers on low index Pt surfaces: an X-ray scattering and scanning tunneling microscopy study
The electrodeposition of a lead monolayer on Pt(111) forms an ordered structure with a rectangular 4Pb-(3 x √3) unit cell, θ"P"b = 23, as determined by in situ SXS and STM techniques. Close to Pt terrace edges, a coexisting 7Pb-(2√3 x 2√3)R30^o unit cell, θ"P"b = 712, was observe...

The electrodeposition of Pb monolayers on low index Pt surfaces: an X-ray scattering and scanning tunneling microscopy study |
abstract |
The electrodeposition of a lead monolayer on Pt(111) forms an ordered structure with a rectangular 4Pb-(3 x √3) unit cell, θ"P"b = 23, as determined by in situ SXS and STM techniques. Close to Pt terrace edges, a coexisting 7Pb-(2√3 x 2√3)R30^o unit cell, θ"P"b = 712, was observed with STM. Data from both techniques suggest an order-disorder phase transition which is associated with a very sharp peak in the current-potential curve. No ordered structures were observed for Pt(100) and Pt(110) by SXS, while islands were observed on Pt(100) by STM. These results emphasize the importance of the in situ studies of electrodeposited monolayers. |

These results emphasize the importance of the in situ studies of electrodeposited monolayers.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">Elsevier Journal Backfiles on ScienceDirect 1907 - 2002</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Adzic, R.R.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Wang, J.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Vitus, C.M.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Ocko, B.M.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">in</subfield><subfield code="t">Surface Science Letters</subfield><subfield code="d">Amsterdam : Elsevier</subfield><subfield code="g">293(1993), 3, Seite L876-L883</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ177324260</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)2229427-2</subfield><subfield code="x">0167-2584</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:293</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1993</subfield><subfield code="g">number:3</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:L876-L883</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/0167-2584(93)90225-8</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_H</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-SDJ</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">293</subfield><subfield code="j">1993</subfield><subfield code="e">3</subfield><subfield code="h">L876-L883</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
