Triple gamma ray directional correlation in ^1^5^4Gd
An experiment to measure the triple gamma ray directional correlation is described. One NaI(Tl) and two Ge(Li) detectors were employed under computer control. Total and accidental counts were accumulated simultaneously by use of two ADCs. The apparatus was used to study the 723-873-123 keV cascade f...

Triple gamma ray directional correlation in ^1^5^4Gd |
abstract |
An experiment to measure the triple gamma ray directional correlation is described. One NaI(Tl) and two Ge(Li) detectors were employed under computer control. Total and accidental counts were accumulated simultaneously by use of two ADCs. The apparatus was used to study the 723-873-123 keV cascade following the beta decay of ^1^5^4Eu. Procedures for determination of accidental coincidences, correction for finite detector solid angle, and correction for attenuation of the correlation due to the finite lifetime of an excited state differ from double correlation procedures. Double correlation studies were also made to confirm the consistency of the measurements and to determine the attenuation factors for the radioactive source employed here. Results that were both internally consistent and in accordance with prior studies of this decay were obtained, with δ(873) = -6.9 (+1.8, -3.4) on the basis of the triple correlation experiment; δ = -10.2+/-0.8 on the basis of supporting double correlation experiments. |

Results that were both internally consistent and in accordance with prior studies of this decay were obtained, with δ(873) = -6.9 (+1.8, -3.4) on the basis of the triple correlation experiment; δ = -10.2+/-0.8 on the basis of supporting double correlation experiments.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">Elsevier Journal Backfiles on ScienceDirect 1907 - 2002</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Lewis, G.C.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Mohammad, G.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Wyly, L.D.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Patronis, E.T.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Braden, C.H.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">in</subfield><subfield code="t">Nuclear Instruments and Methods In Physics Research</subfield><subfield code="d">Amsterdam : Elsevier</subfield><subfield code="g">211(1983), 2-3, Seite 371-377</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ180600451</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1466532-3</subfield><subfield code="x">0167-5087</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:211</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1983</subfield><subfield code="g">number:2-3</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:371-377</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/0167-5087(83)90262-4</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_H</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-SDJ</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">211</subfield><subfield code="j">1983</subfield><subfield code="e">2-3</subfield><subfield code="h">371-377</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
