ExB and angular effects in the avalanche localization along the wire with cathode pad read-out
A proportional drift chamber with a segmented cathode for the localization of the avalanche along the wire has been used to study the resolution in the presence of a magnetic field perpendicular to the cathode plane (ExB effect) and for tracks parallel to this plane but inclined with respect to the...

ExB and angular effects in the avalanche localization along the wire with cathode pad read-out |
abstract |
A proportional drift chamber with a segmented cathode for the localization of the avalanche along the wire has been used to study the resolution in the presence of a magnetic field perpendicular to the cathode plane (ExB effect) and for tracks parallel to this plane but inclined with respect to the wires' direction (angular effect). Both effects are dominated by the clustering of the primary ionization. The ExB effect is reduced when several wires contribute to the cathode signal. The angular effect is reduced applying a correction for the fluctuations of the charge on the wires contributing to the cathode signal. |

Both effects are dominated by the clustering of the primary ionization. The ExB effect is reduced when several wires contribute to the cathode signal. The angular effect is reduced applying a correction for the fluctuations of the charge on the wires contributing to the cathode signal.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">Elsevier Journal Backfiles on ScienceDirect 1907 - 2002</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Amendolia, S.R.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Batignani, G.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Dris, M.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Fidecaro, F.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Liello, F.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">May, J.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Meyer, T.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Milotti, E.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Ragusa, F.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Richstein, J.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Rolandi, L.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">in</subfield><subfield code="t">Nuclear Instruments and Methods In Physics Research</subfield><subfield code="d">Amsterdam : Elsevier</subfield><subfield code="g">217(1983), 1-2, Seite 317-321</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ180600451</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1466532-3</subfield><subfield code="x">0167-5087</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:217</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1983</subfield><subfield code="g">number:1-2</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:317-321</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/0167-5087(83)90156-4</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_H</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-SDJ</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">217</subfield><subfield code="j">1983</subfield><subfield code="e">1-2</subfield><subfield code="h">317-321</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
