Nuclear matrix elements of the first forbidden beta transitions in the decay of Ba^1^3^9, Ce^1^4^1, La^1^4^0 and Pr^1^4^2
The ratio of the coordinate type matrix elements involved in the beta decay of Ba^1^3^9, Ce^1^4^1, La^1^4^0 and Pr^1^4^2 have been computed with the help of the jj coupling of the shell model. The theoretical functions for the observable quantities are compared with the available experimental data a...

Nuclear matrix elements of the first forbidden beta transitions in the decay of Ba^1^3^9, Ce^1^4^1, La^1^4^0 and Pr^1^4^2 |
abstract |
The ratio of the coordinate type matrix elements involved in the beta decay of Ba^1^3^9, Ce^1^4^1, La^1^4^0 and Pr^1^4^2 have been computed with the help of the jj coupling of the shell model. The theoretical functions for the observable quantities are compared with the available experimental data and exhibit a qualitative agreement. The ratio Λ"0 = -∫iγ"5/ξ∫σ . r is computed to be Λ"0 ~ 1 for the Ce^1^4^172^-(β)Pr^1^4^172^+ transition and 1.3 Λ"0 2 for the Pr^1^4^22^-(β)Nd^1^4^22^+ transition; these values are obtained from the comparison between the measured polarization of the β and circularly γ correlation and the theoretical function. |
