Large scale application of magnetoresistors in the magnetic field measuring system of the L3 detector
The design and implementation of the magnetic field measuring system of the L3 detector is described. The system features 992 permanently installed magnetoresistors which serve the mapping of the nominally 0.5 T field of the L3 magnet over its entire 1200 m^3 volume. It enables the reconstruction of...

Large scale application of magnetoresistors in the magnetic field measuring system of the L3 detector |
abstract |
The design and implementation of the magnetic field measuring system of the L3 detector is described. The system features 992 permanently installed magnetoresistors which serve the mapping of the nominally 0.5 T field of the L3 magnet over its entire 1200 m^3 volume. It enables the reconstruction of the magnetic field to an accuracy of better than 0.4%. To allow the magnetoresistors to be used over an extended range of ambient temperatures, a passive temperature compensation scheme has been devised. An internally calibrated read-out system under microprocessor control facilities easy access to the magnetic field data. Furthermore, the mechanical design of the system, its calibration and the field reconstruction procedures are described. |

Furthermore, the mechanical design of the system, its calibration and the field reconstruction procedures are described.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">Elsevier Journal Backfiles on ScienceDirect 1907 - 2002</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Brouwer, C.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Crijns, F.J.G.H.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Konig, A.C.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Lubbers, J.M.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Pols, C.L.A.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Schotanus, D.J.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Freudenreich, K.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Onvlee, J.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Luckey, D.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Wittgenstein, F.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">in</subfield><subfield code="t">Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A:</subfield><subfield code="d">Amsterdam : Elsevier</subfield><subfield code="g">313(1992), 1-2, Seite 50-62</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ180854372</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1466532-3</subfield><subfield code="x">0168-9002</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:313</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1992</subfield><subfield code="g">number:1-2</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:50-62</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/0168-9002(92)90085-I</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_H</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-SDJ</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">313</subfield><subfield code="j">1992</subfield><subfield code="e">1-2</subfield><subfield code="h">50-62</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
