Observation of strongly deformed shapes in ^1^5^4^-^1^5^2Dy nuclei at medium temperatures
The γ-decay of the giant dipole resonance (GDR) built on excited states of ^1^5^4^-^1^5^2Dy nuclei is studied. The selection of GDR decay from high spin states leading to specific exit channels was made possible by triggering on high spin isomers. The deduced energy splitting of the GDR implies larg...

abstract |
The γ-decay of the giant dipole resonance (GDR) built on excited states of ^1^5^4^-^1^5^2Dy nuclei is studied. The selection of GDR decay from high spin states leading to specific exit channels was made possible by triggering on high spin isomers. The deduced energy splitting of the GDR implies large deformations (β0.4-0.5). The resonance widths of the components are comparable to those of the GDR built on the ground state indicating small shape fluctuations. |

The selection of GDR decay from high spin states leading to specific exit channels was made possible by triggering on high spin isomers. The deduced energy splitting of the GDR implies large deformations (β0.4-0.5). The resonance widths of the components are comparable to those of the GDR built on the ground state indicating small shape fluctuations.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">Elsevier Journal Backfiles on ScienceDirect 1907 - 2002</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Noorman, R.F.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Bacelar, J.C.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Harakeh, M.N.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Hesselink, W.H.A.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Hofmann, H.J.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Kalantar-Nayestanaki, N.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">van Schagen, J.P.S.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Stolk, A.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Sujkowski, Z.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">de Voigt, M.J.A.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">van der Woude, A.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">in</subfield><subfield code="t">Physics Letters B</subfield><subfield code="d">Amsterdam : Elsevier</subfield><subfield code="g">292(1992), 3-4, Seite 257-261</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ177212217</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1466612-1</subfield><subfield code="x">0370-2693</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:292</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1992</subfield><subfield code="g">number:3-4</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:257-261</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/0370-2693(92)91172-6</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_H</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-SDJ</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">292</subfield><subfield code="j">1992</subfield><subfield code="e">3-4</subfield><subfield code="h">257-261</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
