Recoil study of transfer reactions: Evidence for α and ^8Be transfers in ^1^2C reactions with heavy nuclei (Au, Bi)
Transfer reactions induced with ^1^2C ions in Au and Bi targets have been studied. The experimental technique involves the measurement of the cross sections, angular distributions, and recoil range at each recoil angle, of the heavy residual nuclei. The processes leading to the production of At isot...

Recoil study of transfer reactions: Evidence for α and ^8Be transfers in ^1^2C reactions with heavy nuclei (Au, Bi) |
abstract |
Transfer reactions induced with ^1^2C ions in Au and Bi targets have been studied. The experimental technique involves the measurement of the cross sections, angular distributions, and recoil range at each recoil angle, of the heavy residual nuclei. The processes leading to the production of At isotopes in the case of a Bi target, and Tl and Bi isotopes in the case of an Au target, have been identified by means of a kinematic analysis of the experimental data. They appear to be 2p, α and ^8Be transfers from the projectile to the target, followed by the evaporation of neutrons. The cross section for ^8Be transfer was derived from experimental data and is significant, of the order of 100 mb. The cross section for α-transfer was estimated to 30 to 80 mb. All the observed characteristics of the residual nuclei produced through α and ^8Be transfers (cross sections, ranges and angular distributions) are in good agreement with the cross sections and angular distributions of the direct α-particles which are the projectile residues of these transfers, and which were observed by other authors. |

All the observed characteristics of the residual nuclei produced through α and ^8Be transfers (cross sections, ranges and angular distributions) are in good agreement with the cross sections and angular distributions of the direct α-particles which are the projectile residues of these transfers, and which were observed by other authors.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">Elsevier Journal Backfiles on ScienceDirect 1907 - 2002</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Bimbot, R.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Gardes, D.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Rivet, M.F.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">in</subfield><subfield code="t">Nuclear Physics, Section A</subfield><subfield code="d">Amsterdam : Elsevier</subfield><subfield code="g">189(1972), 1, Seite 193-219</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ177217928</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1466542-6</subfield><subfield code="x">0375-9474</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:189</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1972</subfield><subfield code="g">number:1</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:193-219</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/0375-9474(72)90654-9</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_H</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-SDJ</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">189</subfield><subfield code="j">1972</subfield><subfield code="e">1</subfield><subfield code="h">193-219</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
