For 0 < x < 1 the Me(OH)"4(ONO"2)"2 site (1) is occupied with great preference by Cu^2^+, because it provides a larger Jahn-Teller distortion than the Me (OH)"5(ONO"2) site (2). The magnetic exchange coupling between the Cu^2^+ polyhedra is rather large and of antiferromagnetic nature.
