The polarographic reduction of Ni(II)-oxalate complexes proceeds through the electrode reaction of aquo-ion and of the NiC"2O"4 complex with the rate constants k"0^0=1.63 x 10^-^3s^-^1, k"1^0=4.15 x 10^-^4s^-^1 (at potential 0.982 V vs. SCE as reference potential). The Ni(C"2O"4)"2^2^- complex was found to be non-labile, and thus responsible for considerable lowering of the limiting current. Stability constants of complexes logsβ"1 = 4.255 and logβ"2 = 7.544 were calculated from polarographic data. |
