Summary Sulfate, perchlorate and perrhenate ions are incorporated into the crystals of AgCl and AgBr in the place of halide ions. The preparation is done by dissolution of the silver salts in the melt. The limits of acceptance for the foreign anions are about 0.1 mol%. In the case of SO 4 2− ions in the AgCl and AgBr lattice a splitting of the ν3-vibration band is observed, which is related to the association with an interstitial Ag+ ion. The monovalent anions ClO 4 − and ReO 4 − in the AgCl crystal do not show any splitting of the degenerate ν3-vibration. The tetrahedral symmetry of these ions is preserved in the host lattice. ReO 4 − in the AgBr lattice shows a very small splitting of the ν33 and ν4 vibration bands. Zusammenfassung Sulfationen, Perchlorationen und Perrhenationen werden auf Halogenidionenplätzen in Kristalle von Silberchlorid und Silberbromid eingebaut. Die Präparation erfolgt durch Auflösen der entsprechenden Silbersalze in den Silberhalogenidschmelzen.
