The total non-diffractive open-charm cross-section per nucleon is measured to be $$\sigma _{(\gamma N \to c\bar cX)} $$ at 〈E γ〉 =100 GeV. We discuss the photoproduction of charm in terms of theoretical and phenomenological models.
