Novel Configuration of 60-Pulse Voltage Source Converter for STATCOM Application
The proposed voltage source converter is composed of a series double bridge converter with an auxiliary circuit. The auxiliary circuit injects DC voltage via the mid point of the double bridge converter. The injection ratio and frequency are chosen to convert the standard 12-pulse into 60-pulse conf...

Novel Configuration of 60-Pulse Voltage Source Converter for STATCOM Application |
abstract |
The proposed voltage source converter is composed of a series double bridge converter with an auxiliary circuit. The auxiliary circuit injects DC voltage via the mid point of the double bridge converter. The injection ratio and frequency are chosen to convert the standard 12-pulse into 60-pulse configuration without PWM or increasing the number of bridges, thus the voltage and current harmonic can fulfill the THD limit without a conventional filter. The converter is operated under fundamental frequency for the main bridges, thus its switching lose is low. The converter can be widely used in the STATCOM and HVDC system. The paper describes the principles and control strategies of the proposed converter. The operational feasibility of the proposed converter is verified by computer simulation using the PSCAD/EMTDC package. |

The paper describes the principles and control strategies of the proposed converter. The operational feasibility of the proposed converter is verified by computer simulation using the PSCAD/EMTDC package.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">Berkeley Electronic Press Academic Journals</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">multi-pulse converter</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">voltage source converter</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">auxiliary circuit</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">voltage injection</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Power system and Power Electronics</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Pan, Wulue</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Xu, Zheng</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Zhang, Jing</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">In</subfield><subfield code="t">International journal of emerging electric power systems</subfield><subfield code="d">Berkeley, Calif. : BePress, 2004</subfield><subfield code="g">8.2007, 5, art7</subfield><subfield code="h">Online-Ressource</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ219537097</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)2207265-2</subfield><subfield code="x">1553-779X</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:8</subfield><subfield code="g">year:2007</subfield><subfield code="g">number:5</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:7</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://www.bepress.com/ijeeps/vol8/iss5/art7</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_U</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-BEP</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">8</subfield><subfield code="j">2007</subfield><subfield code="e">5</subfield><subfield code="h">7</subfield><subfield code="y">8.2007, 5, art7</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
