Raynaud's phenomenon and digital necrosis induced by interferon-alpha
We report two patients treated with interferon-alpha who developed Raynaud's phenomenon followed by multiple digital necrosis. Arteriography of the legs revealed diffuse distal narrowing. Histological examination of the resected tissue showed ischaemic necrosis within the dermis and subcutaneou...

Raynaud's phenomenon and digital necrosis induced by interferon-alpha |
abstract |
We report two patients treated with interferon-alpha who developed Raynaud's phenomenon followed by multiple digital necrosis. Arteriography of the legs revealed diffuse distal narrowing. Histological examination of the resected tissue showed ischaemic necrosis within the dermis and subcutaneous tissue without vasculitis. Resolution of the symptoms was observed when interferonalpha was withdrawn. Since other causes of Raynaud's phenomenon and digital necrosis were ruled out, a drug cause is likely. Raynaud's phenomenon should be looked for in patients treated with interferon-alpha. If present, immediate withdrawal of the drug is required. |

Arteriography of the legs revealed diffuse distal narrowing. Histological examination of the resected tissue showed ischaemic necrosis within the dermis and subcutaneous tissue without vasculitis. Resolution of the symptoms was observed when interferonalpha was withdrawn. Since other causes of Raynaud's phenomenon and digital necrosis were ruled out, a drug cause is likely. Raynaud's phenomenon should be looked for in patients treated with interferon-alpha. If present, immediate withdrawal of the drug is required.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">2008</subfield><subfield code="f">Blackwell Publishing Journal Backfiles 1879-2005</subfield><subfield code="7">|2008||||||||||</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">FARGE, D.</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GLUCKMAN, E.</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">MICLEA, J.M.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ARACTINGI, S.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">In</subfield><subfield code="t">British journal of dermatology</subfield><subfield code="d">Oxford : Wiley-Blackwell, 1892</subfield><subfield code="g">135(1996), 3, Seite 0</subfield><subfield code="h">Online-Ressource</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ24392786X</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)2004086-6</subfield><subfield code="x">1365-2133</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:135</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1996</subfield><subfield code="g">number:3</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:0</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://dx.doi.org/10.1046/j.1365-2133.1996.d01-1028.x</subfield><subfield code="q">text/html</subfield><subfield code="x">Verlag</subfield><subfield code="z">Deutschlandweit zugänglich</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_U</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-DJB</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">135</subfield><subfield code="j">1996</subfield><subfield code="e">3</subfield><subfield code="h">0</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
