CLASSIFICATION OF DYSPRAXIA IN HEARING-IMPAIRED CHILDREN USING THEQ-TECHNIQUE OF FACTOR ANALYSIS
Abstract Identification of hearing-impaired children with the additional language-learning difficulty of dyspraxia, defined by Van Uden(1981, 1983), is explored. Results from 12 diagnostic sublets obtained by Van Uden's sample of profoundly deaf children and a Manchester sample with wider range...

CLASSIFICATION OF DYSPRAXIA IN HEARING-IMPAIRED CHILDREN USING THEQ-TECHNIQUE OF FACTOR ANALYSIS |
abstract |
Abstract Identification of hearing-impaired children with the additional language-learning difficulty of dyspraxia, defined by Van Uden(1981, 1983), is explored. Results from 12 diagnostic sublets obtained by Van Uden's sample of profoundly deaf children and a Manchester sample with wider ranges of age and hearing loss were analysed by the Q-technique of fatter analysis. Comparison of Q profiles revealed a dyspraxic/eupraxic profile for Van Uden's sample, but a linguistic/non-linguistic profile for the Manchester Sample. Two Manchester children who fulfilled the specified criteria and showed the dyspraxic profile had no known additional language-learning difficulties. Usefulness of the Q-technique for the profile analysis of hearing-unpaired children is discussed, and comparisons made with the results from cluster analyses. |

Results from 12 diagnostic sublets obtained by Van Uden's sample of profoundly deaf children and a Manchester sample with wider ranges of age and hearing loss were analysed by the Q-technique of fatter analysis. Comparison of Q profiles revealed a dyspraxic/eupraxic profile for Van Uden's sample, but a linguistic/non-linguistic profile for the Manchester Sample. Two Manchester children who fulfilled the specified criteria and showed the dyspraxic profile had no known additional language-learning difficulties. Usefulness of the Q-technique for the profile analysis of hearing-unpaired children is discussed, and comparisons made with the results from cluster analyses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">2006</subfield><subfield code="f">Blackwell Publishing Journal Backfiles 1879-2005</subfield><subfield code="7">|2006||||||||||</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Hearing-impaired children</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">In</subfield><subfield code="t">The journal of child psychology and psychiatry</subfield><subfield code="d">Oxford : Wiley-Blackwell, 1960</subfield><subfield code="g">28(1987), 4, Seite 0</subfield><subfield code="h">Online-Ressource</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ243927568</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1470297-6</subfield><subfield code="x">1469-7610</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:28</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1987</subfield><subfield code="g">number:4</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:0</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/j.1469-7610.1987.tb00225.x</subfield><subfield code="q">text/html</subfield><subfield code="x">Verlag</subfield><subfield code="z">Deutschlandweit zugänglich</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_U</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-DJB</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">28</subfield><subfield code="j">1987</subfield><subfield code="e">4</subfield><subfield code="h">0</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
