Cadherin-related protein 24 induces morphological changes and partial cell polarization by facilitating direct cell-cell interactions
Cadherin-related protein 24 (CDHR24) is a potential tumor suppressor located apically as well as laterally in polarized cells. Here, the role of CDHR24 in contributing to cell morphology and polarity is examined. CDHR24 was predominantly localized at the nonattached part of nonpolarizing cells while...

Cadherin-related protein 24 induces morphological changes and partial cell polarization by facilitating direct cell-cell interactions |
abstract |
Cadherin-related protein 24 (CDHR24) is a potential tumor suppressor located apically as well as laterally in polarized cells. Here, the role of CDHR24 in contributing to cell morphology and polarity is examined. CDHR24 was predominantly localized at the nonattached part of nonpolarizing cells while another apically sorted protein, aminopeptidase N, was equally distributed over the plasma membrane. Furthermore, CDHR24 expression induced cell aggregation capacity, indicating direct cell-cell interaction. The transepithelial resistance, however, was elevated in polarized MDCK cells, but not in nonpolarizing CHO cells. Our data propose a model in which CDHR24 is directly involved in cell and tissue morphogenesis. |

Our data propose a model in which CDHR24 is directly involved in cell and tissue morphogenesis.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">Walter de Gruyter Online Zeitschriften</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">cell-cell interaction</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">cell differentiation</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">cell polarity</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">protein-protein interactions</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">protein sorting</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">tumor suppressor</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Behrendt, Marc</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Krahn, Michael P.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Al-Bayati, Hiam</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Amiri, Mahdi</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Rizk, Sandra</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Naim, Hassan Y.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Biological chemistry</subfield><subfield code="d">Berlin [u.a.] : de Gruyter, 1996</subfield><subfield code="g">393, 6, Seite 495-503</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ248235095</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1466062-3</subfield><subfield code="x">1437-4315</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:393</subfield><subfield code="g">number:6</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:495-503</subfield><subfield code="g">extent:9</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">https://doi.org/10.1515/hsz-2011-0203</subfield><subfield code="z">Deutschlandweit zugänglich</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_U</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-DGR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">393</subfield><subfield code="e">6</subfield><subfield code="h">495-503</subfield><subfield code="g">9</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
