Radiative muon capture in nuclei
The energy spectra of photons following negative muon absorption in C12, O16, Al27, Ca40, Fenat, Ho165, and Bi209 have been measured with two NaI spectrometers. The branching ratios for the emission of high energy photons give information on the induced pseudoscalar coupling constant gP in nuclear m...

Radiative muon capture in nuclei |
abstract |
The energy spectra of photons following negative muon absorption in C12, O16, Al27, Ca40, Fenat, Ho165, and Bi209 have been measured with two NaI spectrometers. The branching ratios for the emission of high energy photons give information on the induced pseudoscalar coupling constant gP in nuclear matter. The data for light nuclei are in agreement with the theoretical calculations using the nucleonic value of gP≊7gA predicted by the partially conserved axial vector current hypothesis, while significantly lower values of gP are required to fit the data of the heavier elements with presently existing theoretical predictions. Disregarding the remaining theoretical uncertainties, these results can be interpreted as a further indication of the renormalization of the nucleonic form factors inside the nucleus. |

Disregarding the remaining theoretical uncertainties, these results can be interpreted as a further indication of the renormalization of the nucleonic form factors inside the nucleus.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">APS Digital Backfile Archive 1893-2003</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Döbeli, M.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Doser, M.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">van Elmbt, L.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Schaad, M.
